IT Policy

Following is the SelaQui International School MUN (QMUN) IT Policy

Allowed Devices

  • Laptops

  • Tablets
     

Device Use During Formal Debates

  • Laptops and tablets may be used during formal debates for the following purposes:

    • Note-taking

    • Accessing pre-downloaded reference materials relevant to the committee topic

    • Displaying presentations or visuals (with Chair approval)
       

Prohibited Use

  • Accessing the internet during formal committee sessions is strictly prohibited.

  • Using electronic devices for any activity unrelated to the ongoing debate (e.g., games, social media) is not permitted.

  • The use of AI language models, such as ChatGPT or any other similar program, is strictly prohibited during the entirety of the conference. This includes using AI to generate content for speeches, resolutions, or research papers.
     

Internet Access

  • Internet access is permitted:

    • Outside of formal committee sessions for research, communication, and preparation.

    • During unmoderated caucuses only for research and collaboration purposes relevant to the committee discussion. Moderated caucuses do not permit internet access.

    • In exceptional circumstances during formal sessions with the express permission of the Director.

Exceptions

  • Delegates requiring special accommodations due to a documented disability may be permitted to use the internet during formal sessions upon prior approval from the Chair.

Consequences of Policy Violation

  • First offense: Verbal warning from the Chair.

  • Second offense: Temporary removal of electronic device privileges for the remainder of the committee session.

  • Repeated offenses: Suspension for the committee for a indefinite amount of time decided by the Chair.

  • Use of AI language models will result in disqualification from the conference. Repeated offenses of any policy violation may result in further disciplinary action.

Additional Considerations

  • Delegates are responsible for ensuring their devices are fully charged and do not disrupt the committee session with notifications or alerts.

  • Downloading or installing any software on SelaQui International School provided equipment is strictly prohibited.

  • Delegates are responsible for the security of their devices and data. SelaQui International School is not liable for any loss or damage.
